Solera IntelliScan™ ProView cargo image sensing can show you the contents, precise volumetric fill, and available floor-space percentage of every trailer in the fleet without opening the doors, even while it is moving full speed down the interstate. When you know exactly how much available capacity you have and which trailers it’s in, you can max out capacity. IntelliScan lets you increase backhaul and move more cargo without adding more trailers.
The industry’s most accurate cargo sensor
IntelliScan ProView uses advanced proprietary machine learning and optical recognition technology to detect each trailer’s load status with 99% accuracy, producing the highest accuracy rate you’ll find anywhere.
Track unused capacity fleet-wide for long-term planning
Over-capacity has been an ongoing issue for the trucking industry, and capacity isn’t expected to align with demand any time soon. Precise knowledge of how much of your trailer space goes unused month to month can support informed decisions on trailer inventory.
Capture images from the back of the trailer
The ProView cargo sensor is mounted in the rear of the trailer for the most complete visual picture of your cargo you will find. You can download timestamped images from inside the trailer to share with team members and drivers.
Improve the revenue picture from your current equipment
Fleets earn no revenue for the unused capacity they drive around the country, yet they still have to pay drivers and fuel costs, which makes keeping trailers fuller a clear business imperative.
Raise driver productivity and satisfaction
IntelliScan lets you know if a trailer is empty before scheduling a pickup so you don’t frustrate your drivers by wasting their time, which can risk driver retention. Drivers also love TrailerView, our free add-on that shows the location of their next assigned trailer without hunting crowded yards.
Know the location of every trailer at all times
See where every trailer is at any time with FleetLocate™, Solera’s easy-to-use tracking interface. Pair ProView with the Flex 2+ solar-powered covert GPS Tracking Device to improve cargo security and eliminate unauthorized trailer use.

ProView cargo sensor detects “percent full” and “percent available” of trailer floor space with 99% accuracy, making it easy for carriers to find available space for additional backhaul revenue without getting off the road and opening the doors.
Covertly tracking dry vans, chassis, flatbeds, liftgates, reefers, tankers, or other fleet assets can uncover unauthorized activity, prevent theft, and recover lost assets.
Flex 2+ is the ultimate tracking and optimization solution, providing full operational awareness and asset efficiency. With a built-in solar panel to extend battery life and an integrated cargo sensor with time-of-flight laser and optical recognition, you can count on accurate information and long, reliable service.
IntelliScan cargo sensing, with the help of Solera Managed Services, saves Summit $144,000 annually by reducing idle trailers.
A fleet cargo sensor is any device that sees or senses information about a fleet vehicle’s contents or lack of contents. Sensors can be used by any size fleet to keep them apprised of the location and condition of their cargo and the vehicle carrying it. Cameras, temperature and humidity sensors, GPS devices, light sensors, security cameras, and motion sensors all gather data on some aspect of fleet cargo status so the driver, dispatcher, fleet manager, or customer can know what’s going on with the freight.
Fleet cargo sensors can tell you if a trailer is full, empty, or somewhere in between so dispatchers can ensure they’re assigning an available trailer to a driver eager to get to work. They can even provide the exact square or cubic footage that’s either occupied or available. GPS sensors can track a vehicle’s movements and location, either overtly for operational purposes or covertly for security reasons. Sensors can report temperature, humidity, and light conditions for vehicles carrying perishable cargo.
They can absolutely be used while the vehicle is in motion. Many cargo sensors, such as GPS tracking devices, are designed to monitor the vehicle’s movements and location, so when the vehicle is moving, they function exactly as intended. Businesses that ship food, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, sensitive scientific instruments, batteries, personal care products, delicate cargo such as artwork or antiques, chemicals or other volatile cargo, and fresh flowers or plants need to know their cargo is safe from heat, cold, or humidity during the entire trip, and the sensors must work regardless of truck movement.
Advanced cargo sensors, such as Intelliscan ProView, use optical recognition technology combined with machine learning to tell operators not just if a trailer is full or empty, but exactly how full or empty it is. It calculates occupied vs empty space with up to 99% accuracy.
Advances in technology have greatly improved the accuracy of cargo sensors in recent years. Temperature sensors can generally measure temperature from -40°F to 185°F and be accurate to within ∓0.9°F. The best humidity sensors can be accurate within 1-2%, while others reach 3- 5% accuracy. As mentioned above, IntelliscanTM ProView can measure free and occupied cargo space with 99% accuracy. High-end GPS sensors used by fleets can accurately track speed within ∓.05 miles per hour and location within decimals of one meter.
Cargo sensors typically require professional installation to ensure they function correctly and integrate with your fleet management system. Certified technicians install sensors in each vehicle and trailer to maximize accuracy and efficiency across the fleet. Installation is usually quick to minimize downtime and get your fleet up and running with GPS tracking as soon as possible. Solera’s Intelliscan™ products give you access to expert installation services to ensure your system is set up for success from day one.
Multiple layers of security are built into GPS sensors to prevent tampering and unauthorized access. Technicians install the sensors in discrete vehicle and trailer locations to minimize the risk of interference. Any attempt to tamper with or disable them triggers immediate alerts. The same applies to any attempts to steal the devices. Solera enhances this protection with advanced tamper detection features and real-time notifications if any suspicious activity is detected, ensuring that your fleet remains secure and tracking is uninterrupted.
Intelliscan™ ProView shows if your trucks are fully loaded, including “percent full” or “percent of available floor space,” so you know if there is an opportunity to add more freight. It also shows how the freight is being loaded so you know if the proper tools are being used to secure the freight and eliminate damage. The TrailerView add-on lets drivers instantly see the exact location of empty trailers and guides them to the precise location of their assigned asset. Intelliscan can be further customized to gauge tire pressure, temperature, and the status of the trailer doors and liftgate battery.
The Spireon Temperature Monitoring sensor, an add-on to the Flex 2™ tracking device, is an affordable alternative to high-priced reefer solutions that will keep you compliant with Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations. You can access real-time temperature data from anywhere, giving you and your driver peace of mind that your cargo stays safe and compliant. Chain of custody and TCU (temperature control unit) reports make it easy to provide temperature reports for your customers or in the event of an audit. Remote access to critical data helps keep your drivers focused on driving.
